CollegeHumor Movie: To the man who was quick enough to record this insane preacher when he appeared on local cable - we salute you.

Doctor Who: New Earth

I recently caught the latest episode of the new DW series, and...it wasn't half bad. Plot holes and all, it was mostly just a fun romp. Tennant seems to have a handle on his character, and my hopes are rising that the show can live up to its promise.

Robert Osborne's Classic Film Festival

We'll be there for North by Northwest Thursday, as well as Raiders of the Lost Ark on Saturday. It's not every day that you get a chance to see these films on the big screen. I would still like to see an arthouse cinema come to Athens, here's hoping...

Thw "new" Doctor Who- more than shaky sets & dodgy effects...now with melodrama, "sexy" banter, and a Doctor with "street cred"!

The 2005 series of the regenerated Doctor Who hits the airwaves in the US this week on the Sci-Fi channel. I'm not really of fan of the new series and the direction in which they have taken the show, but I suppose it's worth a watch if you haven't already seen it by means legal or otherwise.

Daulton joins Fifth Dimension

Earth, Daulton believes, is entering a quadrant of space in which the "vibrational energy" will increase dramatically. "The Mayan calendar stops at Dec. 21, 2012 -- the date the Mayans believed the world would end," he says. "On that day, at 11:11 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time, those who are ready to ascend will vanish from this plane of existence, like the crew of the Enterprise in Star Trek."

Daulton hopes to beat the rush. "I can't wait to disappear," he says. "I'd disappear today if I could."

And if Judgment Day comes and nothing happens?

"I don't even concern myself with that," he says, breezily. "I just try to live in the Now."

I recently completed reading The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky; I enjoyed it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for some interesting literature. I seem to have developed an affinity for Russian lit over the past couple of years...a lot of the stories address universal facets of the human condition as well as questions such as the nature of truth and the struggle between religious faith and rational humanism.

So..read it if you get a chance.

BBC NEWS | Americas | Simpsons 'trump' First Amendment

Years ago, I would have found this extremely amusing; now it just seems vaguely depressing.

Dirty Minute Meals: "a delicious and revelatory look into America's Sweetheart Rachael Ray's smoldering, white-hot unconscious mind."

My wife thinks I have this "thing" for Rachael Ray, which couldn't be further from the truth. However, if I ever stumble upon one of her shows and find myself unable to change the channel, it's not my fault...it's subliminal!
